Alfa water purifier is a little know brand
name. It is not much advertised but has a good share in the water
purifier market.
Basically all water purifiers function the same way, you have a single or
double candle filter and a UV tube. The water from your tap first passes
through the carbon filter trapping any suspended particles. Then the UV tube kills the germs and micro
organisms in the water. Ultraviolet light alters the genetic (DNA) material in
cells so that bacteria, viruses, molds, algae and other microorganisms can no
longer reproduce. The microorganisms are considered dead, and the risk of
disease from them is eliminated.
What really matters is the service and Alfa has the best service. Alfa
gives prompt service, they have computerised records and their Maintenance
Contract makes a lot of sense. Alfa’s AMC covers all parts including the
UV tube. Every six months their service personnel will change the carbon
in the candle filter and clean the water purifier. Every year the candle
is changed.
