$2000 Missed! And they don't care

I just had a really bad experience buying in Alibaba, not only because of vendor but also from Alibaba. Don’t expect any protection from Alibaba, if the product doesn’t work, prepare to lose your money.


Like three months ago a bought a body composition analyzer to a vendor called NewAngie. Despite I took all the precautions making sure the vendor works with trade assurance and is a gold supplier, I read a lot of reviews, checked the vendor, but still, everything went wrong since the beginning. The vendor tried to communicate through email and WhatsApp, and don’t through Alibaba, I had to divide the payment into three parts because the card didn’t go through the Alibaba.


The machine arrived without any manual or instruction, we had to figure it out how the machine worked by ourselves, they sent useless manual through WhatsApp, the 2 YouTube videos available are also useless, our only contact with the company barely writes in English and doesn’t have a technical background, so it took a month or more make the machine work. The machine now works with some little issues but we have a big problem, all the results and reports that the machine provides are in Kilograms.


I tried to make them understand that in United States, the standard weight measurement is in Pounds. They never mentioned that detail in their product presentation. All the scales provide results both in kg and pounds, this is a$1, 500.00 scales, so at least you expect to have results everybody can understand. But NewAngie keeps saying that they sell the equipment in another country and they don’t see the problem.


When I decided to go to Alibaba to have my money back it was even worst. They said and keep saying that I have to solve the problem with the vendor. I sent them videos and pictures of all the Issues the machine had, with no answer. They sent me a list of third-party inspector located in Changai with a fee of$500 to check the machine, but told me no call then, wait to solve the problem with the vendor. When the last tried to solve the problem failed, Alibaba told me that It was nothing they could do because I failed to set up an appointment with the inspector on time. I sent them back their email, but the person in charge of my case acts as an automatic robot just replaying the same thing, I asked for a supervisor but they won’t provide it to me. The Alibaba online chat works neither.


Conclusion: I am stuck with a machine that I can’t use, loosed my money, and my time.


My advice: Don’t use Alibaba, they don’t care about their customers.
