Aligarians proud to be have a great Central University i.e. Aligarh Muslim University. It was founded by the great Muslim reformer Sir Syed Ahmad Khan as a Mohammedan Anglo-Oriental College in 1875. It is one of the largest University libraries of the World which possesses about 18, 00, 000 volumes of books and 55, 097 current journals in hard and soft copies.
