I think most of the people having written about the DIVINE Profession of CHARTERED ACCOUNTANCY are those simple and plain stupids belonging to science and, even worse, Humanities streams who have probably never tried to know anything about the outside world ! The ICAI wants you to do atleast 3 years of training with a meagre stipend which should be sufficient for meeting the transportation expenses only and NOTHING else and trust me any sincere student do not have literally ANY time for anything else !
Also, this is the training which separates it from the other courses and accords tremendous value to this course. Its training is unlike the sort of training done by the Engineering students or 2nd and 3rd teer MBA institute students where they have the option of going for a ’PROJECT’ which are readily available in the market in the cities like Pune.
Moreover, the portfolio of a CHARTERED ACCOUNTANT includes a host of specialised services like Tax Consultancy, Auditing, Financial Consultancy, Financial Accountancy, Cost Control & Accounting, Investment Banking, Portfolio Management and Financial Management of corporate houses to name a few. As a matter of fact most CFO’s of the biggest corporate houses in india and abroad are CA’s only and not even MBA’s.
But, again....how are these Apathetic People who dont care to inquire about something before saying anything about it are supposed to know it !
To sum it up just take it from me that if you want to know about the value of a CA then ask any senior corporate of a big corporate house and he will tell you the respect a CA commands and the STATUTORY POWERS that have been granted to a CA by the PARLIAMENT OF INDIA under the Institute of Chartered Accountants of India Act, 1949.
On the lighter note, ask a CA and judge the PRIDE in him !
