This is the only professional course where you can join at your will. Can any one just get into IITs or Medical College. So you have to expect the difference. All and Sundry people come and join the Course and claim that they could not make it. Today the number of chartered accountant in the country is far less than any other profession. It is basic economics about demand supply and you have to capitalise on it.
Unlike other profession say medical if you have learnt it once it is good for life, here we have to keep updating with the changes in law of the country.
I was with my principal for 13 years that is 10 years after qualification too. That has defenitely helped me in my career.
Today though I have a very few number of clients ( not even 25) I am like the Big B and happy.
So kindly try to get the maximum out of your senior during articleship. But be sure that you find the best man.
If you go for someone who takes you for a clerk and not a future colleague than it is not his mistake.
If you want peanuts than you have to be monkey.
