Institute which give you the basic training

I write this review after I cleared my PGDM this year. The pros and cons are below:

Pros:

  • Per module payment- Unlike  institutes like IILM you pay for the module you study. Incase you have a repeat you can go to the same class and learn again without paying extra.Rs. 26, 000 per module.

  • Total module 4+ project work for the specialization taken in the third module.

  • Weekend course so there is no excuse for any other work.

  • AICTE-UGC approved course.

  • Basic courseware provided so you know what to study

  • Basics is  taught well if student really pay attention and ask questions.(Statistics is the best)

  • You learn with pen and paper rather than with excel which is good .One gets the basics right.

-You feel in a more adult environment and you are treated as one compared to other B-schools.

-You pay for the subjects you are ready with and repeat later in the next module. You need to complete the course in 3 years including project report.

Cons:

  • Module -1 & 2  accounts/finance lecturer unable to clearly teach although they are very qualified. Better get tuition and clear the papers.

  • Few specialization guest lecturers not available like project management. Rest are fine.

  • Break is only 30 minutes so lunch time is an issue as the best eating joint is at India Habitat Center.

Since I am old batch so writing assignment was tough as alot of hard work was done. Now MCQ is online so easier for students to submit.

I request those students who wish to join this course, don’t join just for Timepass and study well to clear the course. AIMA does not clear students who timepass as they do not make much money from PGDM courses. Don’t waste their time and yours by not attending classes or leaving before the exams. Lecturers don’t have the time to repeat from previous  class as well. They don’t give you a netbook or laptop so don’t think they are useless. They are part time courses and there is a criteria to get AICTE and UGC recognition. You are here to study and improve your education.

If its only job factor you are looking for, AIMA does provides job assistance but if you are looking for huge package jobs so clear your CAT and get into the top IIM’s. Small B-schools can provide but there is no guarantee as well.

Finally this has been my experience studying in AIMA from 2013-2015 and my views. Yours might be different as well.

Thanks
