I don’t know how many of you know the interesting story behind name Allahabad.Years ago Allahabad was known as Prayag.In mugal era when Akbar was Sultan of Delhi he felt difficulty to command over southern area’s of India so he transferred his capital from Delhi to Allahabad.In urdu Illahimeans holy and religious that’s why Akbar named it Allahabad.
initially Allahabad was capital of Uttar Pradesh but later it was transferred to Lucknow.
I’m living in Allahabad since 2013 and now I completely fallan for Allahabad. There is some positive energy here.
if you are asking for tourist places in Allahabad. .i would suggest Allahabad university ( called Oxford of east, Aanad Bhavan( Jawaharlal Nehru’s house ) , The famous Alfred park ( In this park chandrashekhar aazad was died ) , Stone church ( for it’s awesome architecture) , high court ( although high court is not a public place but I want to mention here that Allahabad has largest high court in Asia ) , khusro baag { famous for grave of amir khusro ( son of Akbar) }, and last but not the least Sangam ( Allahabad is famous in whole world for sangam.
If you are thinking to visit Allahabad I want to tell you that Allahabad kumbh mela has largest human gathering in history.My experience is much better than best I think everyone should come atleast ones in Allahabad
