We moved our household effects from Bangalore to Dallas, and this has been by far the worst moving experience- domestic or international. Allied was expensive, but we decided to go with it despite not having any corporate relocation assistance because the folks (a gentleman named Mt Bharath Karthik) were very persuasive. We were given an all inclusive quote for end to end packing, unpacking, and insurance.
Our woes began after we arrived here and were awaiting our shipment. We got all sorts of inaccurate dates as to when our shipment would arrive (which is still understandable as it its beyond the shippers control).
However, we had been told to anticipate at at most we could end up paying $50 to $500 at the destination to address formalities here. When our shipment did finally arrive - it was more of an extortion game! Under different pretexts - we got hit with a bill of close to $2000 - which we needed to pay to get our shipment delivered.
The painful saga did not end here. On delivery, there was no unpacking done. While we had been ensured complete unpacking, all that the folks offered here was to remove stuff from the boxes and leave them on the floor - which on close to 100 boxes was not at all a feasible alternative.
And finally, for all the goods that were damaged or missing, we filed an insurance claim - for which we are still awaiting an answer after 2 months. Now their customer service folks have even stopped responding to our inquiries.
Please steer clear of this scam artist if you are looking for a good moving experience!
