I shifted my luggage from chennai to new delhi in June 2010, the chennai office of Allied lemuire was very prompt and on the scheduled date they came and packed everything .The trauma started thereafter, I had booked a separate container for my goods, however the container’s roof was leaking and as a result the rainwater poured on my luggage in entire journey from chennai to delhi, damaging my table, racks, books and other furniture.
When I complained to the delhi office, a carpenter was sent and I was asked to pay for his services( carpenter ironically was not staff of allied lemuire, but was hired by them) and I was told that I will be reimbursed by the insurance company when the claim gets cleared . I insisted that I do not need the claim amount, all I wanted is that my goods should be repaired to my satisfaction but allied lemuire didnt pay any heed to my requests, finally I paid the money( my goods got damaged because of allied’s mistake and here I am paying for getting them repaired) .
I had to run pillar to post for next 9 months almost for the claim, as the claim papers were not submitted by the chennai office, to the insurance company, finally after 9 months Iof suffering get only part of what I paid for the repair of my furniture. I tried to contact te allied office over this loss to me but to no avail.
So here I am, my goods get damaged due to negligence of reputed movers like allied lemuire and I am made to bear the loss .
My sincere advise pls think twice before going for allied lemuire as their customer service is by far the poorest I have come across and they have no inhouse infrastructure to do the repair jobs in case of damages.
