When I buy make-up I like to use Avon or Revlon. One day I was in London Drug Store, and saw a news type of face make-up.
It is called Almays Nearly Naked. There were three colours, that I tested: Honey, SoftTan or Tan, and I bought the Honey. It cost me, on sale, $7.00 CAD.
There is no box, it comes in a small clear plastic jar. On the bottom half of the jar you can see the make-up. The top half of the jar is white with Almay Nearly Naked, (written 3 times, one behind each other), touch pad, liquid make-up, SPP12, written in gold letters, in both English and French.
On the bottom of the jar are the directions and what Almay claims this make-up is.
Their claims are:
This make up goes on easy, feels silky, blends into a natural looking finish.
The weightless formula so skin feels makeup free. It contains Vitamins A and E plus soothing botanicals.
Anti-bacterial touch-pad for product purity. It is Hypo-allergenic, oil free(no animal, vegetable or mineral oil) fragrance free, non-irritating, clinically, dermatologist and allergy tested and suitable for sensitive skin.
The Directions:
I followed the directions and removed the hard plastic seal. Inside was a large rubber pad, filled with the make up. I dont know if you ever had to turn a lot of pages, and had to use a pad to keep your fingers moist, but thats what it looked like.
I put on my Avon, Hydra Gel, (that I use as a base cream). I waited a few minutes until it dried.
I touched the pad and used three fingers, and lightly touched the pad and put some make-up on my forehead, on the top of my nose, on both cheeks, and in the centre of my chin. Then working upward I massaged the make-up to cover my face, and a little bit under my jaw line.
It did go on smoothly, I didnt use much make-up at all. It didnt made my face feel moist.
What I Didnt Do:
After my make-up has dried I usually spray it with water. Wait until it dries, and then dust it with loose powder. This makes the foundation last longer. I didnt have to do this, because it seem to do all of that.
I have been using this foundation for 4 weeks now, and it stays on from the time I apply it in the morning, until I remove it before I go to bed.
Active Ingredients:
Titanium Dioxide 10.3%, Zinc Oxide 2%.
Inactive Ingredient:s
Cyclomethicone, Dimethicone, Phenyltrimethicone, Isododecane, Lauroyl Lysine, Trimethylsilosysilicate, Boron Nitride, Polyglyceryl-4 Isostearate, Cetyl Dimethicone Copolyol, Hexyl Laurate, Silica, Ginkgo Biloba Extract, Panax Ginseng Root Extract, Camellia Sinensis Leaf, (Green Tea), Extract, Centaurea Cyanus Flower Extract, Vitis Vinifera, (Grape), Seed Extract, Aloe Barbadensis Leaf Juice, Retinyl Palmitate, Tocopheryl Acetate, HDI/Trimethylol Hexyllactone Crosspolymer, Methicone, Tribehenin, Polyisobutene, Polyglyceryl-6 Polyricinoleate, Stearic Acid, Dimethicone Copolyol, Aluminum Hydroxide, Trisodium EDTA, Methylparaben, Ethylparaben, Propylparaben, Butylparaben, Iron Oxides, Mica and Bismuth Oxychloride.
You would think with all of the ingredients, there would be a scent, but there wasnt one.
My Conclusion:
I love my new Almay foundation make-up, and highly recommend it to you.
Almay products can be purchased in Drug Store, the make-up Department of many Department Stores and Safeway, (in Canada).
If you dont have a place to buy their products there is an on-line shop. The link is:
