I rented this film out last night and was expecting some king of teen trash that I usually pick up, and to be perfectly honest usually enjoy. I didn’t have time to read the back as my dad was in a rush and fretting about me taking my time. I can’t cope in Blockbusters, there is so much choice it hurts my head, it takes me hours to choose a film if I am not hassled. I even worked there at one point because I love films so much (it was the most enjoyable job I ever had, seven free rentals a week and watching films whilst it was quiet!).

I pressed play skipped the trailers and launched myself into the film, I was transfixed, the film was a sheer viewing pleasure and I was severely pissed of when I had to take a pee break.

You will probably want to know what the film is about, well its set in the early seventies, at centre of the film is a fifteen year old boy, he loves music, but most of all he loves writing about music. He writes for an underground music magazine called cream, and by chance the editor of the rolling stones magazine see’s some of his work and is impressed and wants him to do an article for him.

William ends up on the road with an up and coming band called Still Water, the film shows him trying to cope in an adult environment (he hasn’t met the guy at rolling stones and they don’t know he is fifteen). He is desperately trying to get his interview but gets wrapped up in all the partying and glamorous lifestyle that comes with being a rock star.

The film is highly amusing and I just adore his worried mother who calls up several times and “freaks out” several of the cast. The groupie or “band-aid” as she would prefer to be called, penny lane, is the object of William’s desire but unfortunately for him, this sixteen year old confused girl is getting it on with one of the band members. This doesn’t stop William having a bit of fun though, as he is deflowered by three of the other groupies in a wild session.

The film sends you through a torrent of emotions but what really stands out in my mind is William’s eyes they seem to show everything he is feeling, and this young man is one fantastic actor. You have to watch this film, it is a must ! And see if you understand what I mean about his eyes, they are pretty spooky!
