I watched this one without any expectations and still managed to be disappointed.
Ben Stiller: Along Came Polly didn?t have enough of those oddly embarrassing situations that Stiller would find himself in his movies, which is odd when you think of the overabundance of toilet humour. So, a poor performance from him in an already poor role and plot.
Jennifer Aniston: Why does Aniston pick roles which could be done by any third rate actress? She plays a waitress in this film. That?s right, a waitress. I wonder if casting people immediately think of Aniston when they have a silly comedy picture that has the unimportant female lead as a waitress? She was a waitress on Friends, in Office Space and now this.
There?s probably more but I haven?t seen all her movies. If I?d never seen Friends or wasn?t as big a fan of the show as I am, I?d think this woman had no acting skills whatsoever. Speaking of Friends, this movie has a plot lifted right out an old Friends episode where Aniston?s character finds a laptop where her boyfriend compares her to his other girl friend. Oh, and there?s the airport chase scene which reminds you of Friends. So, Jennifer Aniston is pretty much playing Rachel in an unfunny and uninteresting manner.
Stiller?s best friend: Disgusting toilet humour aside, he was really funny and stole the show from Stiller. Got to love the Jesus super star bits.
Alec Baldwin: Why? God! He was worse than when he was on Friends as a guy who got excited about everything.
Debra Messing: She does that annoying eye blink thing she does in Will & Grace in the honeymoon beach scene. I can understand why Grace would behave like that in W&G but in this movie?? Yeah, she?s bad.
(saving the best for last)
Hank Azaria: Another Friends actor in this movie. He?s a bit role but he?s simply awesome. His super thick French accent was hilarious especially since he sounded just like my ex-boss did.
Overall, the movie wasn?t too bad but I wouldn?t watch it more than once. Good for a rainy afternoon if there?s nothing better on.
