Stale but spicy nonetheless

*Aloo Chaat is a story of what do you do when a family which opposes an inter religion marriage happens to be your own and to top the ice cream with cherry , the love of your life happens to be from another religion.

*Directed by Robby Grewal this comedy movie starts off very nicely but soon began loosing steam.

I absolutely loved the narration part done by Manoj Pahwa who also happens to play a sexologist in the movie. This movie also sees Kulbhushan Kharbanda, Aftab Shivdasani, Aamna (from TV) and Linda Arsenio (remember her from Kabul Express) . A special mention for Sanjay Mishra who plays Chaddami Mama.

Everyone has done a superb job as far as acting was concerned. I would blame the director for losing out on the steam in the midway. A poor storyline can always be covered up by brilliant direction. This movie has very funny dialogues but a movie needs more than just that. Moreover, all shooting has ben done either inside a house or on the streets of Delhi, though that shouldn’t have been a problem if the story were good.

This movie has a plot which is not that strong, direction which is not that good, a heroine whose beauty was not properly leveraged, an american who was not very hot and the twists which were quite predictable. Inspite of this, make no mistake, this movie has some really funny situations and dialogues which will keep a smile on your face after short predictable intervals. So all and all I give a 2/5 for the movie and suggest this movie to only those people who like to study - how to let go of something after starting really well - from a movie perspective or to those who are getting bored insanely and need to smile for 1-2 hours.
