Average budget Hotel !

During our recent visit to the city of Nizams, we chose to stay at this place for 3 nights and I must say the experience was good, if not excellent. We knew it was a budget place, so knew what to expect.

Without wasting much time on the introduction, let me come straight to the review.

Location: This is the Biggest plus as it is situated in the prime area of Begumpet in a famous area called Shamlaal. The government run bus from Airport dropped us at a right spot from where the hotel is at a 5 mins walk-able distance. All major attractions, shopping areas, malls etc are at a nearby location from Begumpet.

The Hotel: Unlike regular hotels, this is built like a residential building  (looks like an apartment) from outside. The basement has space for parking and a small cabin made into reception  (cannot really call it a pleasant one!). You can complete your formalities here. No pampering, you walk-up or get down from the car, carry your luggage, complete formalities, see the room and get into the room - no special service as such. We did not see any room boys. The guy who did our registration, helped us taking one of the bags.

One of the good points about the place is, since it’s built like an apartment, on each floor there are about 4-5 rooms and in the central place they have placed a table with chairs, sofa set with TV so, in case you are in a big group you can use it for any recreational activities like playing cards etc.

The Booking: Booking was easy through Goibibo. I checked the hotel rates on various sites and everywhere it was different. Even the hotel website quoted prices higher than what I booked at Goibibo. We paid around 8k for 2 AC rooms for 3 nights. That, I think is a real good deal. Before and after booking with Goibibo, I called up the hotel and ensured that rooms are available etc as I did not wanted to go through hassles of wrong booking and so on.

The Rooms: Basic - the size, quality of lighting, bed, bathrooms, TV - everything in place. It has a window AC which made some noise but as such weather was pleasant and we did not have much issue with it. Unlike our experience with other hotels in this budget, everything was in working condition: geyser, TV, remote, taps etc. There were complimentary shampoo sachet, soap, water bottle (filled bottles, not new).

Down-sides: They provided just one towel and did not change sheets or cleaned the room during our second/third night stay. Next day, I asked for additional towel. There was some patch work done for door joints, locks, bathroom fittings, which looked ugly. I am not sure, why most hotels ignore these minor aspects.

There is no restaurant, however I heard they provided room food service - we did not try.The stay came in with complimentary breakfast - just the basics, idli/upma, tea/coffee, bread/ toast/ butter/ jam - that’s it.

Others: Wi-fi was available and was free and importantly it worked with good speed.

Overall it was not a bad stay and we were not fussy with any shortcomings and managed with whatever we got, as we knew we had booked a budget hotel. Rest we ignored, as our main objective was to enjoy the trip to the town.
