I am rather surprised to see a litany of complaints about Amazon on Mouthshut. Speaking as a regular customer who has used Amazon for close to a decade now, I honestly can’t think of a single case where something went wrong and Amazon didn’t resolve the issue.
I’ve bought safe(non-breakable) household stuff, I’ve bought fragile electronics items. never had a problem. Yes, on some occasions, I had to return the goods but the replacements were either on the spot or within three to four days. Only on one occasion could the seller not deliver - and the amount was refunded in full almost immediately.
The layout and usability of the Amazon site/app is really good and user-friendly. It’s easy to find complete, detailed product descriptions, product images, comparisons, ratings and reviews for each product. The reviews are largely genuine and hence reliable. I have never bought a product based on a good review and then found it to be substandard or unusable. It’s never happened.
And let’s face it - the real reason we all go to Amazon is for the prices. It is really educational and empowering for a buyer to know about prices and discounts, especially discounts arising from the product being "Refurbished".
Overall, I’m a highly satisfied Amazon customer - and likely to remain so.
