Okay. Amazon.com/.in is primarily a US based online marketplace service provider. There comes some patriotic questions on your mind when buying from Amazon. But let me clarify that in this world all large corporations are global. You may wanna look at ownership structure of other corporations and check that people from which country are earning from their profits. Besides Amazon India is still unable to generate profits.
Coming to review, there is a story about a famous US based shopping mart whose USP was somewhat like "No question asked" upon return. A customer once went to one of their stores and returned a tyre. The store manager accepted the return and asked his staff to put the item on stand. After a while his staff returned and said that they never has tyre in the inventory and they never sold it, how could they accept returns. The store manager reminded his staff of the policy of not asking questions and said that any return has to be accepted by it. Now the story seems to be a bit exaggerated but still if you pay attention the services of Amazon.in is almost at par. They accept all returns. Patiently heed to customers problems and provide resolution. I have purchased thousands of items on Amazon and returned hundreds of them. Never had a problem in replacement or refunds. They also have something called Prime which apart from being a paid service is also a tag attached to certain products. In my experience with prime tagged products I have rarely found a product with doubtable quality.
Certainly the kind of service Amazon is providing is by far the best of Indian standards. I hope it gets profitable in India and survives.
