I am reaching out to share a frustrating experience with Amazon’s support service, hoping to get some attention and resolution to my ongoing issue.
Issue Details:
My daughter received an email from what appeared to be her boss, requesting her to purchase Apple Store codes as gifts for staff members. Trusting the request, I supported her in buying the Apple Store codes using my credit card. After making the purchase, we realized this was a fraudulent request.
Summary of Communication with Amazon:
28th June: I contacted Amazon support via the’Request a call back’ option. Two representatives provided conflicting information about supporting customers in cases of fraud. They promised the issue was escalated and that we would receive a response, but we heard nothing.
1st July: I followed up with support at 12 PM. The representative said the issue was escalated but had no record of the 28th June discussion. Later that day, another executive assured me that the SLA was 24 hours, which has now passed without any response.
Despite these efforts, there has been no resolution. I am extremely disappointed with Amazon’s lack of communication and false commitments. The amount lost, Rs. 60, 000, is significant, representing two months’ salary for my daughter. It is unacceptable that such a major platform is not taking immediate action against cyber fraud.
Our Request:
Investigate this fraud in detail.
Check if the codes have been redeemed.
If the codes are unused, please stop the transaction and refund the amount.
Next Steps:
If I do not receive a response soon, I will have no choice but to boycott Amazon. This is my last attempt to seek support. Additionally, my review comments were rejected, further diminishing my trust in Amazon. The overall rating of Amazon is 1 or below for this experience.
Please help spread the word to ensure such issues are addressed promptly and adequately.
