Used to Love Amazon, anymore. I bought a hard drive from them. It was on offer at that time, approx 20% cheaper than Ebuyers offer. I paid traditionally using my debit card+ £15 Through Amazon Gift Certificate from Topcashback. They charged me almost double the original price reflected in the order and I spotted it only by looking at my bank statement.
Once realized I was overcharged, I contacted their customer support via web chat. I have never had problems with Amazon before and the person I chatted with was nice, promising to fix it and refund me the difference, so I had no reason to disbelieve their intentions.
One month later I spotted again that it has not been refunded, so contacted them again. This time got a really rude person from their billing who basically told me that when I had the item in my basket the price had gone up. When I pointed that on the order confirmation they emailed me was a correct, lower price, their response was that they will charge whatever the price is in the time of delivery. Their rep was very clear that they would not issue me refund as the price was correct. When I tried to complain I was told that it was their final decision and there was nothing they could do about it. When something goes wrong their complaint system, similar to Ebays is non-existent and you will be left to deal with their Indian monkeys. After spending a huge amount of time, I managed to get through to someone from the, to be told that their customer support was right but they would issue me a full refund if I returned the item. I sent it back and had to wait over 5 weeks for my refund to be processed. They have not refunded me Giftcard balance stating that it was not refundable. Be careful! Amazon is good when everything goes smoothly. In case of any problems they will throw all blame at you in order to save their profits and there is no way to complain as they put so many hoops and loops in their system to discourage everyone from complaining. I closed my Premium Amazon account. Being scammed once by them is one time to many!
