I reside in a local area in UP and as its a remote region and a small village I am not accessible to much variety of goods in nearby retail shops I preferred to give a try to online shopping.As suggested by everybody in my locality I felt comfortable to buy from amazon(a modem) .
I got an bsnl offer that after we can get unlimited broadband worth only 249/- only per month and its deadline date was march 31 of this year.It was an incident when it was February and I get to know about this offer and proceeded to buy it and gave amazon a try.On march 5, I ordered it and it showed 12 days estimate deliver daye to my locality! I waited and on 16 march I got my order at home via COD.After the courier boy I left I opened the packet.it was empty! only an defected modem was inside and rest everything mas missing in a poor packaged box old and torn.
I cannot tell any bad about their customer care service, they tried their level best to help me out of the situation .it was the mistake of the packing department and transportation team! I was in tension and customer care team suggested to return back the order and they would send another and one guy(of their customer care team) told we can send the money back either but the other refused.i asked the procedure and they told as you are in a remote are courier boy cannot pick up so I have to self return by an local courier service team to their ware house address and after showing the cash memo slip to amazon they would send back the money to me via pay balance.So I spend my own rupees and sent back to them.now the deadline was approaching and after the deadline 249/- plan will become to 499/- so I gave a copy of cash memo slip to them and begged to now send back the other fast as it would again take 12 days .they told according to their policy when my defected product will reach them they then only will send another.i waited and was testing enough of my patience.In 3-4 days time it reached them and after one day they shipped another product back to me.Now it again will take 12 days and now the estimate delivery date showed 30 march.After waiting till 10 clock night standing on the road and continuous calls to amazon service the product didnt reached on 30 and now was showing a date of 2 April.Now the deadline will miss and up to now I was somehow consoling the local broadband operators the modem has not arrived.So I now lose hope and cancelled the order and took a train myself to Kanpur and bought a new! and after 5 days the cancelled order arrived home via Indian Postal Service and now I again was in trouble and had myself to send it back to them!
It was my first and last time online shopping!:-(
Amazon please increase your reach to remote areas at a speed you deliver to metro cities and should deliver yourself.sending orders via indian post delays your service and a much trouble to customers!
