Amazon cheats customers by selling old product

Amazon sold me an old and defective product by altering manufacturing date stickers.

Here’s a recap of the ordeal:

  • I bought a watch from AmazonIN, branded AmazfitIN, with a claimed battery life of 14 days. However, it was faulty and only lasted for 2 days. The watch had conflicting manufacturing dates(July 23 and Nov 23), which is a violation of legal standards.

  • Amazon suppressed my negative review, likely to conceal the issue.

  • When I sought help from AmazonIN, they redirected me to AmazfitIN, the seller.

  • AmazfitIN arranged for a pick-up via Delhivery, whose representatives caused chaos at my home. Two of their employees even had a physical altercation over collecting the watch.

  • After multiple follow-ups, AmazfitIN took the watch for repairs and returned it after 30 days without extending the warranty, despite the issue not being my fault.

This incident underscores the risks of online shopping, both in terms of peace of mind and financial loss.

Sharing a recent disappointing experience I had with a purchase from @Amazon.N:

  • On April 24, I purchased a Netgear Wifi Extender EX6120 for Rs.2349.

  • The order was fulfilled by Appario Retail P Ltd on April 2, 2024.

  • Despite being advertised to cover 1200 sq feet and connect 20 devices, the extender falls short in performance, only providing a fraction of the promised speed.

  • Regrettably, even after reaching out to their service center multiple times, the issue remains unresolved.

Why doesn’t https://m.mouthshut.com/PMO rel="nofollow" target="_blank" >@PMO consider making it obligatory for e-commerce platforms to disclose both the "Manufacturing Date" and "Country of Origin"?

It’s disheartening to see customers being misled by online giants like @Amazon. Stronger regulations are necessary to ensure accountability and transparency in their operations.

Key takeaways:

  1. Consider purchasing electronic products, especially battery-operated ones, from local stores.

  2. Review warranty terms thoroughly before making any online purchase.
