One of the best resorts in Manali

I somehow missed this resort while I was looking for a place to stay on my visit to Manali. I booked another so-called 3-star resort called’The Orchard Green’ in the Log Huts area by mistake as I was misguided by their website https://togmanali.com. When the rooms were allotted upon check-in we were dismayed and utterly disappointed to find out that the rooms as well as the bathrooms were in a completely dilapidated condition with the carpets worn out and stinking. Even the food quality was absolutely pathetic. The’luxury’ in the so-called’Luxury Rooms’ was absolutely missing and I would not even give 1 Star rating to this hotel. The staff were non-courteous with delayed response of their so called’24 hour room service. Since we had checked in late at night we had no option but to stay the night at this hotel. I had taken a 3 night package for 2 rooms and had paid full advance but stayed only 1 night. The hotel never refunded my advance money.

By God’s grace we found Ambassador Resort next morning and also found that 2 balcony rooms were vacant. When I went to see the property, the Manager Mr. Sanjay Kashyap and his staff were extremely courteous. I was totally delighted to see the property and quality of their rooms. It was like I had come out of hell of’The Orchard Greens’ to the heaven of’Ambassador Resort’. The balcony rooms was large and spacious and was well equipped as per 4-star standards. Even the bathrooms was large along-with nice decor and had all the facilities and toiletries and ample amount of clean towels. The view from the balcony and the room window was breath-taking and we could see the snow-capped peaks along-with river flowing below.

Since my family was subjected to a lot of misery at’The Orchard Greens’ on their first night at Manali, I immediately took the 3 nights package at Ambassador Resort and enjoyed our stay to the fullest. The rooms service was prompt and quality of food during breakfast and dinner were quite nice. The dinner was accompanied by live band which we quite enjoyed. The only downside was the quality of Chinese food at their Chinese restaurant D’Jong. I appraised the Manager of this and he promised to look into this. However, over-all the quality of food was pretty good.

This resort also had gym and spa. The use of gym along-with 1 session of sauna/steam was included in the package. I also discovered that they are building an indoor heated swimming pool and I was told this would be functional by next year.

The lawns were well maintained and their was a children’s park as well which my children really enjoyed. There was a huge lawn along-with helipad on top of the resort and the view from there was absolutely fantastic.I really enjoyed taking all the photographs.

In a nutshell, the Ambassador Resort(also called Manu Allaya Resort now) was a great place to stay in and we enjoyed every moment there. Highly recommended.
