I would recommend this restaurant to anyone visiting Udaipur, though more for its location than the food.
Ambrai is located on the bank of Lake Pichola just on the other side of the Udaipur City Palace.

Cuisines: The restaurant serves a variety of food including Indian, Continental and chinese. However its speciality is mainly the Indian cuisine.
It is fairly priced and an average meal for two would be around Rs.600.
This is a restaurant where you can spend a very romantic evening with your partner. The tables are laid out in the open right beside the lake. You get a beautiful view of the city of Udaipur all dressed up in beautiful lights. You can also see the charming Lake Palace floating in the Lake right in front of you. The whole sight has a magical feeling and makes you feel really special.
You can actually get a very good shot of the entire city right from your dinner table.
The restautant is generally very crowded so it is a good idea to make a reservation before hand else you should be prepared to wait for 30 minutes before you get a table specially in the tourist season.
The food here is not exceptional but the view more than makes up for it. Actually the view is so engrossing that I dint bother much about the food.
The place is tastefully decorated to give it an ethnic rajasthani look. The waiters are dressed up in traditional clothes and there is folk music being played live to entertain the guests. The restaurant also puts out some firecrackers to add to the feast for the eyes.
If you are a tourist visiting Udaipur and you feel that the Taj Lake palace hotel’s restaurant is too expensive for spending on a romantic evening, then you have an option - The Ambrai Restaurant.
