When it comes to drama genre, european movies are far ahead of their american counterparts! Amelie is testament to this. The way this movie starts, last thing u expect is it to be a romantic flick! But this is one of the great romantic movies i’ve ever seen.
The protagonist is a real innocent but interesting girl. Her mother dies when she is young & father could never be normal again.She is surrounded by weird characters & unconfident personalities. But despite all the odds against her, she keeps her senses & plods along to find her true love.
The way romance is developed b/w the 2 characters is very creative and quite refreshing.
So incase u r a european movie buff go & watch the movie, if u r a romantic movie buff go & watch the movie & of all u like real good movies go & watch this movie!
