Title : My US consulate experience.
Review : I am working in a leading software firm in their legal team at Delhi. I have applied for my visa through TT Services and I was given an appointment after 2 months. But I wanted to go earlier and after some efforts on the web, suddenly the appointment happened in just 2 days.
My appointment was at 8.15 AM. I went there at 7.45 AM. there was some crowd. Exactly at 8 they called for people who have appointment between 8-8.30 and let them after verifying invitation and passport.
Then I was let in after the usual scanning and things like that. Then I was let inside a building where they were taking the fingerprints of both your index fingers (the lady overseeing was quite nice with people who do not understand how to do that).
Then we were asked to pay the service charges to TT Services (Rs.441 by DD or cash) and asked to join a queue for the consular appointment. After about 15 minutes, I was called nearer to the window (with microphones on both sides). I found an amercan manning that counter. My first question was what do you intend to do in US. I answered that I am going to look at the legal aspects of some business transaction with an american company. He did not ask me which company. He just smiled and enquired so, your company is going on shopping trip (meaning are you buying that company. I just smiled him back. He just said your visa will be stamped and returned to you back. I just filled up the envelope with my address at TT Visa counter and walked. Overall it look me about 45 minutes l.
I just intend to give practical tips for being successful. 1. Dress formally (no need to have business suits but) 2. Behave in a well mannered way through out -mind you they watch you all over. 3. Say the truth while answering-They watch your bodylanguage more than your spoken words. 4. Speaking truth also help in cooking up another lie for the next question (unless you are a expert in doing that) thanks
Pros : done in a professional way
Cons: the web gives a long waiting time
