I have been using this card for the past 2 years and below is my experience.
- You can’t apply for the card directly it has to be through reference .
2.The sales guys who comes down to you for the initial offering will say hell lot of things about the offers and the yearly charges to be free, but once you complete the first year the real story starts you will be asked to pay the Annual charges which amount to be around 5000 and for that they say you will get free miles which can never be redeemed since they say it takes 5-7 working days and they would arrange a call back but no one calls you back after following up several times.
3.It is not accepted in all shops and in all the city’s there are selective, even in few corporate hospitals which they say they are in tie-up can not accept these cards.
4.The charges are really high when compared with other Banks.
5.When I wanted close the card I was asked to pay the entire bill amount which includes the annual charges and I was told that the annual charges will be repaid back.But after 6 months I am still waiting for them and when I called toady 2/3/2014 I was told that since my card got canceled that money cannot be refunded.
I wish others to please be cautious if you are going for American Express.
