I applied for AMEX Platinum Reserve card since I had got lot of good feedback from friends who currently use it. I applied for the same and gave them documentation. After 2 weeks, Amex contacted me, that my office address needs to be where the company is registered and has to be changed. It was done from my end. On the 4th week, I check on the status of my application and was advised by customer service that it has been declined.
Firstly, they do not have the decency to call or update a customer. Secondly, the reason for rejection was address validation, which was updated after the 2nd week. And the AMEX wanted to offer me their platinum reserve.
In retrospect, Stan Chart offered me their Platinum card and got on spot approval and the card within a week. I am happy to promote Stan Chart to my other friends and even advised my company for giving up AMEX Corp Card as they are becoming more useless with their service.
