I hold an Amex Platinum Travel Card(3769 331257 91002).
All the benefits they promised while selling this card to me are false.
The reward points scheme is a total fake, can you believe that they don’t even have the rewards points catalog updated for 2014 and we are already in Feb 2014.
the benefits of the rewards is very poor, it just seems very good on paper.
I have been trying to redeem my points for the last 3 months and they just don’t seem to understand the customers expectations.
For eg. you cant redeem your reward points for an international hotel booking in December 2013 for stay in 2014 even though the gift voucher has 3 months validity. This is because their partners change every year in Jan and they don’t even have the updated partners in Feb.
Because of this I settled for a an amex gift card for a certain denomination, the fools sent me 5 gift cards instead of one for the same amount. which is useless for me as I was planning to make an online purchase and can redeem only one card at a time.
I have made repeated calls to their customer care and no one has bothered to even call back.
Please do not go for an amex card, its totally not worth the 5000 Rs you pay as annual fees.
I will be cancelling my card.
