I have always had mixed feelings about Amisha Patel having seen her on screen and also having read plenty about her in the media (mostly nothing pleasant I must add). I guess it is not up to the audience to judge their real-life personality as we don’t know them at a personal level.
As an actress I honestly cannot understand how Amisha has survived to date and still can find someone to sign her on. She is proof that good looks are not nearly enough to be a truly good actress (Aish are you listening). Ever since I saw her ’Kaho Na Pyar Hai’ it was quite evident that she was (and still is) in desparate need for professional training. Her dialogue delivery or rather lack of it serves as a major setback. Her expressions are always off and that too only when she actually decides to display some form of emotion rather then putting on this sort of blank face whether it be a happy, sad, or romantic scene.
In ’Gadar’ and ’Humraaz’ she was tolerable but she really needs to work on her crying...which more then anything is annoying and irritating. She eats up half her words while crying and you cannot even properly make out what she is saying. She has been horrible in most of the other movies I have seen of her.
Definitely has a long way to come if she wants to even attempt to reach the likes of Kajol or Madhuri who along with good looks also have solid acting talent. Maybe she was best off staying in Boston pursuing a PhD or something.
