Once I saw Amitabh Bachchan advertising for awareness against hepatitis B on TV wherein he disclosed about an incident that took place with him in 1980 while he was shooting for film’Coolie’. In this incident he was severely hit by a table on his stomach that injured his intestine very badly. He had undergone a surgery during which 60 bottles of blood was injected into his body. Most unfortunately one of these bottles carried Hepatitis B virus and he got affected by it. After 20 years it was observed that 75% of his lever was damaged. However, after proper treatment, he has revived from it. It was really stunning for millions of viewers to know since with 75% lever damaged, there could be a very little chance to survive for sure.
