These are the main drawbacks I found with the device:
You can not fast-forward or rewind movies. This is the most annoying defect. The player’s remote control has keys for these operations. But when you press them the player replays the entire movie.(I experienced this while playing an .avi file)
It does not recognize subtitles. Second most annoying issue.(experienced with .avi and .sub files)
It does not recognize DVD menu. If you have DVD contents in a folder you can not play it like software media players can play it on a computer. You have to play the individual VOB files.
Sound quality is not good. The volume is also way too low.
Once I choose the picture(to view photographs in the media) mode it hangs for several minutes.
Obviously, all these are software defects. The company can fix them and provide a software upgrade. But the company website(amkette.com) does not talk about a firmware upgrade. I wonder if the firmware of the device can be reinstalled at all.
I have wasted Rs.2300. You can wait until the product becomes stable.
