I had a very bad experience, way back in 2016. My father was admitted to AMRI Hospitals - Salt Lake - Kolkata and he breathed last there. This is not the only reason for my stand of not suggesting anyone getting admitted to AMRI Hospitals - Salt Lake - Kolkata.
During those 17 days of my fathers stay gave me the closer view of the hospital and its working, the infrastructure, medical care and the services provided by the staff. They have two separate buildings - Main and New which are not on the campus of the Hospital. The buildings are separated by a wide lane and few other building in between. The new building doesnt have the proper infrastructure, for almost all major tests the patient has to be taken to the Main building irrespective of the seriousness of the ailment the patient is suffering from. No doubt they have their own plight of vehicles to move the patients from one building to another but imagine the condition of patient and his/her family members when they have to wait for the vehicle at the entrance. This happens in critical situations also.
I heard family members saying that their patient was discharged saying that he/she is fit now. Can you believe this the same patient reached the exit point of the Hospital only to get admitted at the very same moment returning to the same bed from where he/she was discharged.
Its a big hassle to get all the reports to avail the second opinion from another doctor. They wont give it to you easily. You have to plea for it again and again.
They have a very clear calculation of earning a specific figure from a particular bed and they will succeed by hook or crook.
