I have been prone to sinusitis and hay fever, since childhood.
I prefer Amrutanjan Strong(the variant that comes in a green plastic bottle) to similar brands such as Vicks Vapor Rub, as Amrutanjan is much more effective than Vicks, in not only in taking away any headaches that I may have due to a Sinus infection, but in also curing any lingering nasal congestion.
Whenever I suffer from very severe nasal congestion(especially during the so-called winter months), I can be rid of it in a matter of 2 to 3 days, provided I breathe in some steam, at least two to three times a day(this process is called steam inhalation, a pretty well known home remedy for colds and sinusitis) that essentially, comprises of Amrutanjan steam fumes.
I make sure that I dissolve a small amount(the size of a small coin) of Amrutanjan Strong in boiling hot water(as too much of Amrutanjan will make the steam fumes excessively strong and this causes my eyes to water, uncontrollably) and breathe in and out, deeply for at least 30 minutes! It is the steam fumes consisting of Amrutanjan Strong that serve as a sure fire cure for annoying colds!
I find that Amrutanjan not only has a wonderfully strong and long lasting minty cum herbal aroma, but is also not very sticky and can hence, be conveniently applied on to tissue paper, to breathe into, while combating a headache or sinusitis. Vicks on the other hand, has a minty, but rather chemical sort of aroma, which doesn’t last for very long and often(from my experience) has left a very messy and sticky mass on tissue paper. Vicks is in fact so sticky, that once while I was battling a cold, I got Vicks all over my hair and glasses! It is indeed, a very difficult balm to handle!
Amrutanjan has been a trusted family remedy for colds, headaches and sinus infections, for decades, as far as my family is concerned!
