Soft & kool

Guests at home? Not my headache, as my mother is here now. But yes, being a weekend I thought of helping her. Couple of weeks back few of my old friends were invited during weekend. Weekend is the time when I get to see my footsteps moving towards the kitchen. So, decided to help Mom for the arrangements etc.

It was the time when it didn’t start raining in B’lore so regular and mercury level was high. Wanted to say ‘Welcome’ to my friends in different way – rather kool way. I don’t prefer to be served cold drinks until it’s Thumps Up – so am sure people are there for Pepsi too [actually two of the friends are Youngistan aulaad]. How could I get Pepsi when I don’t like it myself moreover picking up Pepsi mean – solid 15 minutes gyaan from ‘Pitaaji Maharaj’. Appy would make my friends to pull my leg [for not serving FB] and fruit juice??? I bet my friends would take as if I have become nun. But still I didn’t want to change my decision of serving something kool.

Went to nearest Nilgiris. Had a thorough look at the cold section. Flavored milk? Nah! Better I would serve cold choco milk. Well, I see something in those tetra packs. The packaging looks interesting. Oh Boy! The same product comes in bottle [looks like those flavored milk] and can too. I remember I have seen the advertisement several times. Tried the product couple of times too.

I decided to pick up Amul Kool Café. Opted for the tetra pack because of the hygiene factor. Come-on I can’t serve the kool in the bottle – looks untidy [after-all my friends, I bet they will find the rust on cap]. And after reading those forward mails on rats’ do on the cans – I don’t dare to opt for it. Remembered about the ‘new sign language’ they do point during commercials.

Had a brisk  look at the pouch. ‘Do not buy puffed or leaky packs’ – written in smallest font available but in BOLD. Tastes best when chilled – mentioned as instruction. The 200 ml pack comes @ 15 INR.

Despite me not being a coffee freak, picked up few extra packs for us too. Kept the packets to be chilled. Let me see the packaging once again. Amul Kool Café – written in English & Hindi. The Kool Café font is funky too. 220 calories? Chalta hai yaar! Best before 180 days from manufacture date [checked the Mfg date, not even a month].

Next day office, I found one Kool in my office bag. Aah, Momma wanted me to kool. The taste is very different than the fresh filter or instant coffee. The milk seems to be thick and the effect I feel is smooth. Tetra is easy to carry and easily disposable. I was happy with my decision to pick-up Amul Kool Café. Am sure, my friends are going to like it.

Saturday evening – dost log liked the kool café, Mom was glad as she got something readymade.

Then on Amul Kool Café is pretty much seen at home as well as in my office bag too … I don’t find the regular coffee effect in kool café though but this is a kwel one to sip when too engrossed in work or to say welcome guests at home or to taste after a tiring day…

Some personal touch! I have noticed I enjoy the cafe when I sip from a glass. Having it on a cup or from the pack doesn’t get me the same smooth effect ...
