I vote this movie as the best tollywood movie for this year. As long as I am watching this movie I feel as if the story is happening in the neighbourhood. This total credit goes to the director Shekhar Kammula who also wrote pretty good dialogues and did a very good screenplay.
This film has the lots of freshness and is a class apart. Its totally practical movie. And you dont find the highfi things as in other movies like fighting scenes with the help of wires and some stupid scenes like hero not getting hurted even if some 100 bombs fell on him.
I will tell you one movie scene of rajnikanth which makes us really astonished. our hero rajini and villain will be present on two different sides of a very big wall (no one can climb or jump) where rajini need to kill the villain.
Now he just throws his gun in the air and with the help of another gun he shoots the trigger of the gun which is in the air. Can you expect what happens. The gun in the air shoots villain. Anyways this movie dont have any scenes kind of this way.

Anand is a simple story but the treatment given to the theme and is artistic. Director Sekhar handles it so well that it never gets the color of a commercial movie.This film oozes freshness and still retains local flavor. Music part makes it more interesting, well picturised. Radhakrishnan?s music score is refreshing and is an asset to the film.All the songs are very well picturized with lot of situational backup. Photographer Vijaykumar gives us excellent visuals.The color grading and lighting schemes are carefully crafted.
Story
The story is all about an independent women Roopa and a rich guy Anand because of whose father Roopa loses her parents in the accident. Roopa starts living on her own as an independent woman without taking any help from her relatives after her parents death. She has a marvadi boy friend named Rahul with whom she is about to marry and get backs out because of rahul’s mother who is very adamant in behaviour.
Anand joins her neighborhood. And he starts making Roopa feel comfortable and secure. The rest of the story is about why Anand - MD of the richest corporate house of AP - has chosen to reside as neighbor of Roopa and what follows next.
Starring
Kamalinee Mukharjee who acted as roopa best suited to her role as a typical south indian girl. To be frank It’s been years since Telugu film industry saw a film that portrays heroine as an independent girl who does not follow hero’s footsteps to get a glimpse of him and sing songs with him. She oozes sensuality in her looks department. She has a beautiful smile and very expressive eyes.Even Sunitha’s voice best suited her which blended exactly with the expressions of Kamalinee (especially emotional scenes) and the mood of the scene. This is probably the best work by Sunitha so far.Costumes designed for heroine are good.
Raja is the man made for this role. He has done his performance effortlessly with tremendous ease and timing. He never tried to dominate the character and played within the boundaries and limitations this character offered him. More importantly he got a role that begs to be different from the run of the mill heroic characters.
Satya who played the role of Anita - walks away with honors in the entertainment segment. Her one-liners and nonchalant attitude towards male characters were received well. The person who acted as cousin of hero is also the executive producer of this film. Everyone did their best performances along with the kids and pets in this movie.
Music
All songs are wonderful.?Vache Vache Nalla Mabbullaara ? song caught the imagination of every one.Particularly the meaning of this song is really good. ?Nuvvena?, ?Yamuna Teeram? are other good songs I hope.
Only thing which should have been taken care of is the film should have been speed up in the last 30 minutes. Everyone of us felt kind of dragging at the end.
Some good points which I felt very good:
When the marriage has got cancelled roopa being an independent woman worries much about her future how to face this crisis. Anitha will be with her all the time even for good and bad. Here I just remembers some quote about friendship. ’’Friendship is like the relation between the hand and the eyes. It’s like when the hand gets hurt the eye cries and when the eye cries the hand wipes’’.Some other scenes like showing one scene from INDRA(chiranjeevi movie) while hero’s cousin explaining anitha about anand.
Last lines
The first half is excellent. The second half is good. The director Sekhar Kammula should have concentrated more on the last 30 minutes, as it appeared little dragged. This film definitely lives up to its caption of ’manchi coffee lanti cinema’. Films like Anand should be watched and appreciated by all. I would recommend ’Anand’ to everybody.
