Anandvan Resort - Mumbai Overall Experience: Nice place. Very nice cottages, well maintained. Courteous staff. Very serene location.
Anandvan Resort - Mumbai Transport and people township around: The people in Bhandardara are very friendly. And the drive from Pimpalgaon to Bhandardara(State Hwy SH21) is beautiful. Also, the drive from Anandvan to Konkankada is great(you need to take a right turn as soon as you get out of Anandvan premises). You pass thru some really desolate and scenic spots. If coming by car, I suggest you get along a bicycle in the trunk if possible. It would be great fun to ride a bicycle on the Konkankada road. (not at night though, could be dangerous(wildlife).
Anandvan Resort - Mumbai Few Suggestions for the Management: It would be good if the mgmt kept available some bicycles for rent on their premises for the customers. I’m sure customers wouldn’t mind paying a nominal charge for the rentals. As regards dining, I believe the restaurant at Anandvan is the only decent option.
Anandvan Resort - Mumbai The food served here: The menu choices are quite limited, but the food is tasty. Regarding drinks, I was told that they serve liquor but it is unauthorized (ie. they don’t have a permit), so they only accept on the spot cash payments and they don’t issue receipts. Hmm, sounds a bit dicey. Wonder whether that money goes to the right books or into the wrong pockets! Cons: Also, there are some ugly electric poles that stick out like a sore thumb when you stand in the resort parking lot to look at the lake. The resort mgmt should work with MSEDCL to get those cables underground, at least in that region alone.
