We have been taking our son to Early Intervention centres in Bangalore – where there is quite good awareness about Autism. When we wanted to move to Hyderabad we had hard time finding therapy centres . I am glad I found Ananya therapy centre. We met Madhavi, the owner of the centre, and found that she understands the spectrum very well. It was very comforting for us talking to her. We have just had 10 sessions till now and our son started enjoying coming to the centre after first few sessions itself.
Working with kids on spectrum needs a lot of effort. Therapy and proper guidance are very important. I felt Ananya provides proper guidance. They suggest alternative therapies, nutrition plan etc based on their research and experience. However, contrary to one review I read, they never push for anything. All kids are different, so as a parent it is our job to gather as much information as we can and then decide what will best suit our children.
About the centre – it is very clean, well maintained and most importantly a “happy” place to send our kids. Their therapy fees is slightly higher than other centres I went to, but IMHO, I think it is completely worth it given the centre quality and therapists’ qualification.(I think such endeavours need to be made sustainable and if we can, we must support it)
I would recommend that if you need to start therapy for your kid who might be on spectrum, please visit the centre, talk to Madhavi and the therapists, and decide based on that. As for me, I think what Madhavi is doing is really commendable. Running a centre for special needs and making it a place where you feel happy about sending your loved little one is no ordinary task. Based on my experience till now I will recommend Ananya centre to parents like me. I also give a thumbs up to Madhavi for spreading the awareness about the spectrum.
