I have an SB account with this bank(Unfortunately). I forgot the transaction password and sent a request for the same. To my surprise, the transaction password has been sent to my base branch rather than sending directly to my registered address. Bank staff called me and asked me to visit the branch and collect the password. This is the most stupidest policy on earth. When other banks are providing their customers a facility to generate the passwords online, these guys are still in stone age sending the passwords to base branches and asking the customers to visit the branch to collect the same. When I asked the branch manager, he said it is banks policy. What kind of stupid policy is this to save few bucks on courier charges?
Even the online banking is at its worst. Following are the major issues I found
It will open 3 screens in 3 different windows before you could get into your internet banking home page. Why on earth it should open so many windows?
There is no facility to send an email to the customer care from your internet banking account.
You can open an FD online(without any option to give maturity instructions). But you cannot close it online. You have to visit the branch to do the same. The dick heads making the policies doesnt know what is online transaction. If you need to visit the branch to close your FD that was opened online, how can it be called online service? Most frustrating fact is that they will issue a physical FD receipt even for the FDs that you opened online, but they wont send it to you. The bank staff will hand over the FD receipt when you visit the branch(Misery at its peak again to save few bucks on courier charges). You need to present that physical FD receipt to close the FD.
If you call toll free number of the customer service, they will not have any information about the branch and will ask you to call the branch directly. They dont even know the timings of operation of a branch. I wonder what kind of customer care is this without giving any information to the needy customers.
Over all, Andhra Bank is the worst bank in India and suggest people to not open any kind of account with them. I would have closed my account long back if it was not linked to my locker. I am giving one star rating to this bank as there is no lower rating than that.
