Angadi Theru is absorbing right from start to finish. Ever since the reality trend as a genre dawned on our Tamil film directors with K.Balachander showing the way, many have tried taking the untrodden path, but as the saying goes, you can’t have the pie and eat it too. But ace director Venkatesh does both in one go! Two mangoes in one sling.
A reality show - hardcore reality - that has movie watchers empathise with the harried lot of the Angadi Theru .
Mahesh does a dice of a role - that too for a debutant. Anjali, all bubbly and beautiful looks charming in every scene. It’s a real treat listening to Antony’s music - especially the song - "Aval appadi ondrum azhagillaai". He has lived up to his expectations. Black Pandi steals the show as the confidant of Mahesh, and also by his romantic overtures with his ’beautiful’ crush. Sneha’s cameo towards the end proves a point. Critics know what!!!
Altogether, a memorable flick, but can’t be watched more than once because - as we all know - reality bites!!!
