I had read the Da Vinci Code & Deception Point before I started on the Angels and Demons. The name did not ring any bell, like its famous predecessor did. But once I started on the book, it was a very difficult to put down. I was completely drawn into the world of the Pope and the eccentricities revolving around the Illuminati and how all the lose ends were brought together in the end!
You don’t need to read the Da Vinci code to enjoy this one. It is a thriller and the author has done all justice & has lived up to the expectation set by readers.
I only hope Dan Brown doesn’t follow the path of Mario Puzo who after writing the ever-memorable God Father & Sicilian got too swayed by the mafia and kept writing books along the same lines. Though a wonderful author, an overdose of anything loses its spark!
