Anil Kumble is undoubtedly a great player. A brilliant spinner, a good batsman at times. His record of 10 wickets in a single innings (that too against Pakistan!!!) was a treat to watch. He has done many other memorable things.
But I agree with one of the other reviews over here which says he is not ready for captaincy yet. Perhaps for some more time in the future. One thing is: age is not in his favour, for captaincy -- a younger player is preferred.
Besides, regular cricket watchers might have noticed that he sometimes loses his temper on the field -- puckers up his face, or shows his unhappiness at a doubtful decision.
Another side to him which does not get much publicity -- in his spare time, he does a lot of social work. That is why I call him a great player with a kind heart.
