Anjappar Restaurant - Bangalore

A authentic chettinad restaurant with a truly amazing menu. We were in Anjappar for lunch on a week day and the crowd was yet to gather. We were cordially shown the door to the restaurant on the 1st floor.

On my friend’s advice, we tried out the authentic dishes from the chettinad kitchen. We ordered the Kaadai (quail) roast for starters. It was great to taste the masala was spicy. One of my friend ordered the Bheja Egg Fry (Mix of Brain fry and Egg fried together like egg scramble.).

It was good to taste but too fatty. Another friend had ordered Crab roast which turned out to be quite a good item with good masala, but the crabs were disappointing because they lacked the flesh. We thought we had eaten enough of starters when we ordered for Chicken Kotthu Paratha & Mutton Kotthu Paratha which is considered a speciality where paratha and shredded chicken are mixed with some masala and served with a hot spicy gravy. We then had a taste of the Chicken biryani too which was quite normal south indian biryani.

After all this, my gang was still not satisfied and wanted to try out some more items, so they ordered a Shark fry and some kidney roast. We missed out on Prawn, Turkey and Naati Chicken items which we intend to try the next time around. :P It was bizzare and wild experience altogether. Good place to have a meal with friends :) (when all of them are gluttons). Items are not very highly priced. Quality of preparations is good and service neat and commendable.
