I had a lot of expectations from this place, primarily from the Highway on my plate show, where the hosts had waxed eloquent about the food.
So, on my very first visit to Chennai, where we were really short of time, I spent a significant amount of it, in the horrible traffic, asking for directions many many times, and finally reached the Nungambakkam branch. We were ravenous, by this time and it didnt help that parking the car took a good 15 minutes.
By this time, I was just expecting that the food would make our whole bone-jarring journey to this place worthwhile. sadly that was not the case.
With the waiters being horribly rude, and acting like we were asking for food for free, and portions being miniscule, we were left really unsatisfied. We ordered the Nathu Kozhi Biriyani, and for Rs.145, there were just two pieces, stripped off the flesh.
The prawn masala, was reasonably good, but the quantity was so less, that when it was first brought, I thought it was some kind of a pickle. The less said about the rest, the better.
All in all, we left completely unsatisfied. Definitely not VFM. My suggestion, please spare yourself the heartburn, and avoid this place like the plague. Or, in case you want good service, remember to take a camera crew along.
