"Alright thats good Drew, you can shut it down" this was Ed Warrens reply to his assistant, after they had finished showcasing one of their demonic cases on footage to the audience. This very filmThe Conjuring included two demonstration cum educative reels that were shown to students in Massachusetts Western University-While one included a demonic possession on a French/Canadian farmer Maurice, the other was its former mentioned by me on the first few lines. That very incident had unclear facts, especially about the doll suspected to be possessed by a girl named Annabelle. Then what can you call this incident, "spirit possession" or "demonic possession", They both may sound the same. However, motives could be a lot different from what we suspect. As, one of them do not fall under the category of primary evil. Demonic possession can conjure up greater auras of malevolence on the other hand spirit possession can sometimes be help inducing.Hence, this very sub-plot from the film became a main plot, to try and narrate what exactly took place while the doll was eavesdropping hark! cried director John R. Leonetti, sending Ed and Lauren Warren to the backstage, he sends us back to 1969.He believes the incident took place in one of the neighborhoods from California. The projector starts rolling and its faded picture on the white sheet starts to vivify.
John and Mia Gordon are a happily wedded couple who are awaiting the birth of their first child. Their devotion sometimes takes them to church, while at the other times they plan the way ahead.John is a medical student and Mia a normal housewife.Nothing bizarre haunts the Gordon family except theconcerns of an married couples.Until, the deliverance of an unique gift by John to his wife and upcoming newborn curses the familys living. One night they experience a murder on their neighbors by a group practicing occult rituals.Which is later found out, when the deranged ones enter the Gordon residence and take a liking to their dolls. They survive in shock, that terrorizes their time ahead.Since, they are pushed inside a broken car towards a busy traffic all hell breaks loose which includes bone-chilling horror, random scares and the climax which the evil truly famishes. Even though trailers roused immense trepidation. The film seizes to be terrifying.Like its formerthe bone-chilling conjuring" which invoked bed bugs for viewers .Its Latter, Annabelle bags a moth more or less. With a mediocre budget, far less than the James Wan Directed film. His production brings together stills that can stun audiences, the sounds that can arouse anxiety and the eeriness ofsomething ahead. However, what "Annabelle" lacks is content and the nightmares. In total of 4-5 scenes with real horror, it doesnt sum up to become an all time supernatural thriller.
The flick revolves around a handful of four characters, the main being Annabelle Wallis(Mia Gordon) who was appreciated for her Indian cameo in filmography "Dil jo bhi kahe." and a side-role actor Ward Horton(John Gordon) who himself appeared in films sitting like an angel in the backs of successful actors.Their family priest played by Tony Amendola(Father perez), who previously appeared in villainous roles from "The Mask of Zorro" and a psychic Alfre Woodard(Evelyn) who provides a cloud of interest from her plot story. The cast plays out the same way, a birthday boy blows a candle on the same white cake with a cherry on top.The white portion being your scare rate.
For me Annabelle doesnt bring the same thrills and spills. You can watch it but dont miss the least dreaded scenes that will pull out of your seats.Wait for the bluray release.
