Anniyan -- The 2 V's

The movie Anniyan, eventhough pathetically falls short of the expectations created by all the hype, is made worth watching by the efforts of Vivek in the first half and Vikram in the last 20 mins who has acted quite superbly.

Director Shankar has tried to ’’photocopy’’ the stunt scenes from ’’The Matrix’’ which doesn’t come anywhere close to the original.

The comedy of Vivek and Vikram provides some relief from the otherwise boring first half. The scenes in the train and ambi’s love letter scene are pretty hilarious.

Remo is a serious pain in the a*s with his stupid accent... however the intro song for Remo is pretty nicely done...

As the killings start happening, I started feeling that Shankar has tried to force his point down the audience throat, rather than trying to prove it. for eg, He kills the guy who stops the car but refuses to help the man who is bleeding from an accident. What about the countless people whom he tried to stop but wouldn’t. Can you go on to kill all of them? I feel that Shankar could have done a better job in trying to justify the killings..

now to Vikram... he SIMPLY ROCKS in the last 20 mins of the film... the way he changes from ambi to anniyan and back with ease during the interrogation scenes is awesome... This effort definitely makes the movie worth watching..

However you do feel a taste of Indian in Anniyan as you walk out of the movie..

A good effort which could have been better...
