I first have to confess that I have listened to the songs only 5 times so far and I know that its too soon to decide if they are good or bad. (Yes, like anyone else I will begin to to like ARR’s & Jayaraj’s songs only after listening to them for like 10 times)
Usually the soundtracks in Shankar’s movies are a bit different, mainly the Lyrics part and some spl involvement from ARR.
In Anniyan - the “different” lyrics are missing. They are just normal. May be because everyone are writing “differently” nowadays and that “different” has become normal, I dunno
Also, even though ARR is the music director for his earlier movies, we can identify Shankar’s Taste/Touch/Flavor in them, but ’it’ is missing in Anniyan. It sounds too Harris. I’m not saying Harris is bad, but the ’Shankar’ Taste/Touch/Flavor is missing; at least to me.
But hey, its hard to accept change. but ppl say Change is GOOD, lets c if it really is.
