I got a broadband connection from my cable wala on Oct 3rd. The deal is 1000 rupess installation charge, 500/month and 2GB download limit. They came in the evening and pulled the cable to my house. The next thing they did was to insert a CD and scanned my computer for any viruses. I felt very glad that they care for customers. When we try to connect, it failed. They cited ’server down’ as the reason. After one hour finally the server came up and was able to connect. I was asked to fill up an online registration form and forced to let them know the password for my account.
Here starts my disgust about them. As soon as I finished registration, I went to https://broadbandreports.com and did a speed test. To my pleasant surprise, the speed was 230/412 kbps (Down/Up). This was around 7Pm. I checked the speed at around 9Pm same day, it went down to 112/168. On Oct 5th I went to the end of frustration, the speed was 33/52. Yes, the download speed was less than that of a dial-up connection. On Oct 4th right from 9Pm till 5th 9Am, the server was down, again. Now i’m looking for some alternative broadband connection in Hyderabad. Any suggestions??
