Brought my Inverter and Battery from APC. The sad thing is that the battery lasted exactly 18months that is their warranty period. You call it sheer coincidence or my hard luck, but no- I am no way going to invest in APC which goes wrong every 1&1/2 years. That too the battery being the costliest part.
When I brought this to the notice of APC they hardly responded. The customer service was really bad when they realized the battery ran out of warranty the same month!
They claim that once the battery is used even to 5% it should be charged back to full 100% before the next use.
Now do I have control on the frequent power cuts in India? If I switch off the Inverter every time to ensure battery is back to 100% charge before use again, this product is not suited for India.
I ran a check in the market and Luminous and Exide offers you 4 years warranty for the same or better price that these APC folks. So why shouldn’t I as a customer move on!
APC was once upon a time a great name but right now the company is heading south!
