No response in spite of repeated calls

I bought a UPS inverter for Rs 15000/- on 28th April.

The inverter keeps discharging and shutting down. I have been trying to call Bicron power for the last 10 days. At their head office, nobody picks up the phone. One Mr. Gunasekharan, who is responsible for the customer support, keeps promising that he’ll send some one, but no body comes. I am really surprised that so soon after the sale, there’s this much callousness. Is this a company that should be allowed to do business? Why such bad behaviour? I am really fed up with these people. I will recommend against any one buying anything from them.

Modified on 9/7/2010: a) The inverter is Bicron, not APC. Both are supplied in Bangalore by Bicron .( https://bicronmall.com). b) There is no way in Mouthshut to move this review to the category called Bicron. When I choose Inverters, Mouthshut.com takes me to APC category.c) I called Mr. Gunasekharan every day for nearly 2 weeks, and he kept telling me he would send a person. He said it was a spare part that needed to be replaced(PCB) and he did not have any. To get the spare part was taking time. He kept promising that it had come and would soon be sent to me. But no one came.d) After a while I got fed up and said that he should take the inverter back and refund the money. He said it was not possible. When I said I would go to consumer court he said I could do what I wanted. He need not take my calls, and answering my calls was a favour to me! In fact no body takes any calls in their office.e) After repeated calls and e-mails, a service person was sent to diagnose the problem. He was very defensive in the beginning, trying to shift the blame to us, saying that he had given all instructions for use when he installed the system. When I told him about the lack of willingness by Bicron to talk to me, he said it was not his problem, he was only there to follow his boss’s orders. After heated arguments, he agreed to diagnose the problem and said that it was not a PCB problem, but a total capacity problem. We needed a bigger capacity inverter(1.5 KVA, 1050W) to handle the household load(approx. Rs 25000/-). With the current one, some units(Fridge, Geiser, TV etc) should be switched off when there is no mains power.f) He did explain the features, operations and needed precautions well, after he became comfortable with us.
