Visited Dr.Akram last week as my 5 and a half month old baby had a cold. As any paranoid parent, we had a ceremony coming up and wanted to be sure he was at his healthiest best. Dr.Akram seemed nice the previous time we visited him. Most doctors seem impatient while answering a flurry of doubts.
They ensure they keep the answers crisp - same was the case with Dr.Akram. This time though, I was shocked to see that he prescribed more than 3 medicines for my baby who never even had fever in the first place. But, paranoia took over once again and I did administer the meds to my poor baby.
The very next day, I talked to some neighbouring friends at our apartment who have a one-year old kid themselves. They gave us the reassurance needed and gave us the courage to stop the medicines. I resorted to home remedies(tulsi water, ajjwain water) and the cold subsided like magic.
Any doc who administers too many meds for infants in my opinion is not a good doctor. Dont think I will ever consult Akram again!
