My Experience with Cradle started a week before my wife delivered a baby boy. I started the tryst with Cradle by booking a room in advance on condition that a poor IT guy can afford only charges towards Hospital via Insurance (TTK). I insisted the consultant that I do not want any surprises at last minute. She was very forthright in assuring me that I would not have any surprises.
She told me to bring just the TTK e-card and I may have to pay extra 6K. I went home happy. My wife got her pains and I had to admit on advice by our Gynec. All of our family were exited about the new arrival and we went to the Hospital. On arrival, I showed my card for which I was told that will be taken care later.
Staff attending gave us the room and injections to my wife. and here comes the twist. Insurance agent appeared and told us since Cradle has cut off ties with TTK insurance(National Insurance as Third party) and I have to go with Hospital package of 55K which was costing us additional 10k and now the charges would have to be beared by me. Question in my mind, should I be annoyed, shocked or excited. Who would be having cash of 60K in hand. Ofcourse they were sorry and they came down to package earlier offered but who would have 50K. In their Website there is not a single word that TTK with National insurance is not accepted. I could not even go out as they had the process for my wife.
I am not sure if its a ploy by Hospitals to get their money fast rather wait for a month. Secondly we pay such a ransom to the Hospital, they can’t provide us an extra pillow. They cited the reason as "extra pillow won’t come with the package"(read in mallu accent). Third, there’s photo as part of package but Cameraman never turned up..reason he is not available. Professional Hospitals should have ideally given us an alternative Cameraman than telling us to turn up after 10 days for a photo of the baby. What do these people think ? Last but not the least. Listen to this scary jumble up they do. Discharge summary given to us was of a different patient. Just imagine if my wife had taken prescription as per that.
Eve n government hospital won’t do such a mess. Just a word of caution to Cradle management, had it been for any other country...you people would have been sued in millions. We Indians have that forgive and forget mentality. So don’t do such things often. Also by the by why was Cradle promoting christanity by giving some copy of Jesus. Don’t do that. Accept and be accepted. Some Good things are, amazing campus, neat when compared to all hospitals and Great charges.
